Artist Biography

Robilee Frederick's work continues to explore light and memory through painting and sculpture, using various metaphors for the existence of light and its opposite, the absence of light. Flaming with a torch, burning gunpowder and incense, as well as the residual ashes are all used in Frederick's works on canvas and paper. Ranging in tone from deep reds through smoky browns, this show represents Frederick's most gestured work to date.
